March Madness: Free Fitness Classes

Who says March Madness is all about basketball? The madness continues at Mundelein Park & Recreation District's (MPRD) (www.mundeleinparks.org) Park View Health & Fitness with a mad number of opportunities to try a variety of fitness classes for free.

Tuesday's March 3 and March 17 at 12-12:45 p.m. try Indoor Cycling Express. This excellent cardio workout incorporates different cycling cadence variations to mimic flats and hills. Proper warm up, cool down and stretches are emphasized. Reservations are required for this class.

Are you an early bird? Tuesday's March 10 & 24 at 5:35 a.m. try Total Body Conditioning. This class combines muscular conditioning and cardio for an all-in-one efficient workout. Increase your energy level and go beyond traditional aerobics by cross-training with weights, bands and mat work.

Tuesdays March 24 & 31 at 8:15 a.m. try Group Training. This class utilizes different cardiovascular machines, weight machines, free weights and resistance tubing. It's a great way to learn how to use all the different types of fitness equipment in the gym and has a "personal trainer" feel.

Wednesday's March 11 & 25 at 8:30 a.m. put a little Latin boogie in your step with Zumba Toning. This is the original dance-fitness class taken to the next level-an innovative muscle training program with the addition of light weight toning sticks, and is designed to offer the participant a safe, yet effective total body toning workout.

Saturday's March 7 & 21 at 10 a.m., keep the beat going with Body by Ballroom. This class combines the elegance and grace of ballroom dance with the benefits of a good cardio workout. No partner is required at this high-energy, dance based fitness class.

Classes are held at Park View Health and Fitness, 1401 N. Midlothian Road. Gym membership is not required for these dates, however, a reservation is needed to accommodate for space for Indoor Cycling Express classes. Participants must be 14 or older.
