Dist. 220 candidate drops out of race

Michael Shackleton, who filed to run for the Barrington Unit District 220 school board, announced Thursday he has decided to drop out of the April 7 race. The Barrington Hills candidate wrote the Daily Herald in an email that after deliberating, "I have reconsidered and do not have the time to devote to this important matter/responsibility at this time." Four candidates remain for three 4-year seats. They are incumbents Joe Ruffolo of South Barrington and Brian Battle of Barrington; and residents Alexandra Bernardi of North Barrington and Angela Wilcox of Barrington Hills.
