Homeowners and commercial property owners having plans for improvements, or needing to schedule repair projects, will see hundreds of new ideas and are encouraged to bring their plans with them. Meet contractors in person, and have your questions answered when discussing designs.

"This expo is a home design shopping center for the weekend," said Peggy Ruh, producer of The Home Shows Inc. "This is the best exposition held in this area, with local contractors in a neutral environment ready to discuss your needs.

"Many tradesmen offer spring discounts - to get an early start - they're ready to schedule new work. Other exhibitors have Show Specials and deals on products sold at the show," says Ruh. "It is a great event for planning home projects and remodeling. With spring coming up, you can still get your project on their books."

Settlers Pond will make an appearance at the Home Show in Aurora at the Vaughan Athletic Center. They will bring baby monkeys in diapers. They do a great job at saving the exotic animals that need rescuing. In addition, you'll find great take home extras from places like Cleaners, Black Hills Adirondacks, Ergonomic Tools, Nature's Art, Gourmet Salts, Jewelry and Cutco Cutlery; ll offering fantastic show specials and can't-be-missed deals.

If you're looking for a new hand-painted piece for your wall, check out Art & Company, locally owned and operated in Homer Glen. Prices are reasonable and include custom-framed pieces that work with your design and budget.

While there, register to win one of the door prizes at the front desk: two tickets to "Les Miserables" provided by Paramount Theater; two tickets to a Fox Valley Repertory Show; and two tickets to Riverfront Playhouse.
