Celebrate Women's History Month at The Holmstad

The Holmstad will highlight the formidable lives of two American women during the March celebration of Women's History Month. The Holmstad, a nonprofit, faith-based continuing care retirement community operated by Covenant Retirement Communities, is located at 700 W. Fabyan Parkway, Batavia.

In "The Journey to Mollie's War," author Cyndee Schaffer will share her mother's experience serving in the Women's Army Corps during World War II at 7 p.m. Thursday, March 26. Schaffer will discuss her own personal journey from inspiration to publication of the book, "Mollie's War," which she co-authored with her mother, Mollie.

In "Molly Brown: More Than Unsinkable," Barbara Kay will perform a living history portrayal of Margaret "Molly" Brown, best known for surviving the Titanic disaster, at 7 p.m. Monday, March 30. Brown went on to international prominence as a social reformer and champion of the rights for women, children and workers.
