Donna Gentile of Lake Zurich Elected to Board of Cosmetologists Chicago Largest Association of Beauty Professionals in Midwest
Donna Gentile, owner of Salon Coccole in Lake Zurich, has been elected to the board of Cosmetologists Chicago, the largest associations of salon professionals in the Midwest, and one of the largest in the country. The association owns/produces America's Beauty Show (not for profit), which will run March 21, 22, 23 at McCormick Place; based on figures from the Chicago Convention Bureau, America's Beauty Show 2014 attracted 80,000 attendees --- who came from all over North America and 35 foreign countries --- and had a $116 million impact on the local economy. America's Beauty Show makes it possible for the more than 75,000 licensed salon professionals in the state of Illinois to learn the best in beauty trends and education from international experts.
Prior to open her salon in Lake Zurich a decade ago, Gentile worked as an educator and stylist for Mario Tricoci Hair Salons for over 15 years. She is a graduate of the Pivot Point Academy. A career highlight: in 2012 Donna attended New York Fashion Week as a correspondent for Modern Salon magazine!
A big believer in giving back to the community, Donna is supporting an event by Beauty Changes Lives (BCL) a not-for- profit created to build awareness of the extraordinary career opportunities in the beauty, wellness and massage therapy industries. Saturday, March 21st, America's Beauty Show will kick off with the 2015 Legacy Awards honoring Leo Passage, founder of Pivot Point International. The event will be held in the spectacular Modern Wing of the Art Institute of Chicago and will be open to -- and will encompass - the entire art/beauty/fashion industries. The Legacy Awards will be an interactive evening designed to spotlight young and future talent, dubbed NEXTGEN, and salute all beauty professionals. As an added bonus for beauty artists attending, a special viewing of the Modern European Galleries, housing many of the Bauhaus works that inspired Leo Passage in his early years, will be open during the evening,
