Christian Liberty bows out of postseason

Christian Libertyville's Class 1A boys basketball playoff run came to an end with a 50-44 loss to Ida Crown in the semifinals of the Chicago St. Benedict regional on Wednesday.

Guard Sam Silva had 20 points to lead the way for Christian Liberty, while Kevin Bokor (18 points) and Nathan Ollif (17) paced Ida Crown.

Silva made five 3s, and Christian Liberty got 9 points from senior Paul Weiss and 8 from sophomore Mark Cabrera as it wrapped up its season with a 14-14 record.

The regional championship game will feature Ida Crown against top seed Luther North, which advanced by handling St. Benedict 73-51, on Saturday.
