Cavs' Marion out 2 weeks with hip injury

CLEVELAND (AP) - Cavaliers veteran forward Shawn Marion is expected to miss two weeks with a hip injury.

Marion, who began the season in Cleveland's starting lineup, underwent an MRI on Monday and the test revealed a strained left hip. The team said the 36-year-old will be out "approximately" two weeks. He has been struggling with the injury for the past month.

Marion did not travel with the Cavs to Detroit for Tuesday night's game against the Pistons. Cleveland has won 16 of 18.

A four-time All-Star, Marion recently announced that this will be his final NBA season. He signed as a free agent with the Cavs to try and win a second title. Marion has extensive postseason experience and the Cavs want him healthy for the playoffs.

Marion is averaging a career-low 4.9 points in 20 minutes this season. He spent the previous five with Dallas, helping the Mavericks win a championship in 2011.
