Nicole Sapstead appointed CEO of UK Anti-Doping

LONDON (AP) - Nicole Sapstead is the new chief executive officer of Britain's anti-doping agency.

Sapstead was appointed to the full-time position Tuesday after serving as interim chief executive of U.K. Anti-Doping since the departure of Andy Parkinson in December.

Sapstead joined UKAD in 2009 as director of operations.

UKAD chairman David Kenworthy says "her background and experience in all aspects of anti-doping will stand UKAD in good stead as we introduce the new anti-doping code and face up to the challenges of protecting clean sport."
