AG's office to monitor Chicago, Springfield elections

CHICAGO (AP) - Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan says 140 teams of attorneys and investigators will be monitoring elections in Chicago and Springfield.

In a statement, Madigan says voters should call her office if they observe or encounter any suspected improper or illegal activating in Tuesday's contests.

Her office says voters have the right to vote if they are in line by the time polls close at 7 p.m.

If the voter makes a mistake on a paper ballot and it hasn't been cast, the voter has the right to receive a replacement ballot.

Also, voters can take unpaid time from work to vote, but no more than two successive hours.
