4 Wesleyan students arrested in Molly drug hospitalizations

MIDDLETOWN, Conn. (AP) - Four Wesleyan University students have been arrested in connection with about a dozen hospitalizations among people who took a party drug known as Molly.

Police say the students were arrested Tuesday on drug charges. The students have been suspended from the university, which is based in Middletown, Connecticut.

The charges against the students include possessing a controlled substance, illegally obtaining or supplying drugs, selling a hallucinogen and possessing drug paraphernalia.

Police Chief William McKenna says officers searched locations in and around Wesleyan's campus to collect evidence in the case.

Wesleyan president Michael Roth says the university takes drug distribution allegations seriously and is cooperating with authorities.

Police say 11 Wesleyan students received medical attention over the weekend. Some of them had attended a rave music show Saturday night.
