Geneva High band seeks help reaching uniform fundraising finale
After almost 18 years of performance and parade use by a growing band program, the existing Geneva High School band uniforms stopped looking their best years ago.
The Friends of Geneva High School Band and the Geneva Music Boosters are currently raising funds to replace the existing band uniforms, which were purchased in 1998. The Geneva Unit District 304 board has committed to covering half of the $113,000 cost of new uniforms, but the remaining half must be raised from within the schools and the community.
To date, $42,556 has already been generated, leaving approximately $14,444 more to be raised. With the new uniforms ready to be ordered, the Friends of Geneva High School Band and the Geneva Music Boosters are at the crescendo of uniform fundraising efforts and are asking the community for help in reaching the finale.
There are several ways in which donations to this effort can be made. First, donors may make a check out to "Geneva Music Boosters" and write "New Uniforms" in the memo section. Mail your donation to Geneva Music Boosters New Uniforms, c/o Geneva High School, 416 McKinley Ave., Geneva IL 60134. Or you may drop off your donation at the high school in person.
Geneva Music Boosters is a 501(c)3 organization and your donation is tax-deductible.
Second, online donations may be made via the GoFundMe fundraising website using your credit card at www.gofundme.com/h74ecc.
Donors are also encouraged to inquire with their employer to see if a matching gifts program is offered that would double the donation.

"Our talented musicians take great pride in providing beautiful music for their audiences. We believe that experience is enhanced if our current and future musicians also look and feel good while they are performing."
