Believe Project: $100 to buy supplies for a school in Jamaica

Today's winner of a $100 bill through the Believe Project is Pam Byrne of Gurnee.

Here is an excerpt of her pitch:

"Seven years ago on a family vacation to Jamaica, our family bonded with a young man who worked at our hotel. At the time, he was working his way through school and supporting himself and his extended family with whom we were happy to meet and become friends. He has now finished his schooling, and along with working at the resort, he has become a pastor in his church, gotten married and become a father. During our last visit, we were allowed to pick her up from her neighborhood school and met the two wonderful women who run and teach children of all ages together in a small two room building. The teachers told us that the parents in the community pay what they can for school supplies, and salaries, and somehow they manage to do miracles with the meager finances, but I would love to send them a nice check to help pay for supplies. If I win a $100 bill from you, I promise to match it with one of my own."

• The Believe Project mails a $100 bill each day to someone with a good idea for how to use it to do a good deed for someone else.
