Girls basketball: Week 11 MVP

Antioch sophomore guard Ashley Reiser has earned Daily Herald girls basketball MVP honors for her recent performance in the North Suburban Conference championship game.

Ashley Reiser, Antioch: With their sophomore point guard leading the way, the Sequoits made a point in the North Suburban Conference championship game. Reiser scored a season-high 26 points (four 3-pointers) and dished out 5 assists in a 68-54 rout of Stevenson, giving the Sequoits their first NSC title.

Anjella Farmer, IC Catholic: Farmer, a 6-foot junior forward, led the Knights to the Class 2A Walther Christian regional championship. She scored 21 points on 9-of-15 shooting with 6 rebounds, 2 steals and 2 assists in a win against Westminster Christian. Farmer followed that with 18 points on 7-of-13 shooting, 7 rebounds and 2 steals in a defeat of Walther Christian.

Morgan Rosencrants, St. Charles North: The junior just missed a pair of double-doubles last week. After scoring 9 points and grabbing 10 rebounds against Glenbard South, Rosencrants helped send the North Stars into the postseason on a high note with 15 points, 11 rebounds, 4 steals and 2 blocked shots in a 55-36 win over Batavia.

Sammy Stejskal, Buffalo Grove: Stejskal had another one of her big scoring games as the junior guard drove and shot her way to a team-high 21 points with 8 field goals as the Bison finished their regular season at 19-10 with a 66-64 win over visiting Schaumburg.

Jenejah Williams, Streamwood: The Sabres' sophomore had two big games in leading her team to two wins. In a 47-37 victory over Addison Trail, she had 18 points, 14 rebounds and 6 blocked shots. Then, in a 52-28 win against West Chicago she scored 20 points and had 14 rebounds and 7 blocks.
