Music notes: Rocker Mikal Cronin plays Prairie Center

Cali indie rocker/singer/songwriter Mikal Cronin comes to Schaumburg's Prairie Center for the Arts bearing gifts from his collection of soulful garage-rock tunes, including a preview of his upcoming album “MCIII,” due to drop in May.

Long live the King

“Elvis Lives,” a musical journey through Elvis Presley's career, features finalists from The Ultimate Elvis Tribute Artist Contest in Memphis. These top-notch musicians will be bringing the best of Elvis' life and times to the Midwest, hitting the Chicago area twice this weekend — Joliet's Rialto Square Theater and the Rosemont Theatre. And in case you were wondering, Elvis fans, Graceland swivels its hips in approval.

Billy Ocean was one of the most iconic R&B singer/songwriters of the late '70s and '80s, with a string of hits from 1984 to 1988 and a Grammy under his belt for “Caribbean Queen (No More Love on the Run).” The legendary artist brings his soul-influenced pop to St. Charles' Arcada Theatre this weekend.
