Your Chance to Pay it Forward

In just a week-and-a-half, you're invited to join forces with C.A.T.I.F., which stands for Celebrating All That Is Feminine. This non-profit organization's board is made up of professional women who in 2009, decided to find multiple ways to 'pay it forward' to women and children experiencing crisis.

The group has held five previous, "Pay it Forward' fundraising events since they joined together to make a difference in the lives of others. They have raised nearly $100,000 and benefited area non-profits such as WINGS (Women in Need Growing Stronger), PHD, Home of the Sparrow, the Kappa Kappa Gamma GIRLS Academy and several others.

Beneficiaries of the 6th annual Pay it Forward event will be the Jesse Brown VA Medical Center, which will fund programs for female veterans returning from service and working to re-assimilate back into civilian life, as well as the Palatine Opportunity Center's ROLE program, which works to empower Palatine Township women in the way of education, counseling, health and welfare.

The event will include entertainment, two happy hour cocktails and heavy appetizers, along with silent and live auctions and raffles.

You'll learn more about the organization at the event, as well as those that will benefit from funds raised. Tickets are on sale, online until February 20th for $50. They also will be available at the door for $60 on the night of the event.

Pay it Forward will be held on Friday, February 27 from 5-9pm at Durty Nellie's, 180 N. Smith Street in downtown Palatine. Visit www.catifcharity.com to purchase your tickets, and to learn more about C.A.T.I.F.
