It's Paczki Day at area bakeries

Paczki, the traditional sweet, sugar-dusted pastry, was the star of Fat Tuesday at bakeries around the suburbs. Traditionally filled with prunes, American paczki comes filled with jams and jellies, custard and chocolate, and customers have been known to line around the block to pick up their orders. Central Continental Bakery expected to make and sell 90,000 paczki (grammar note: the plural of paczki is "paczki") before the dawn of Ash Wednesday.
