Trinity named to President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll

For the seventh straight year, Trinity International University has been named to the President's Higher Education Community Service Honor Roll for exemplary community service programs.

According to a news release from the Corporation for National and Community Service, the annual award is considered the highest federal recognition an institution can receive for its commitment to community, service-learning, and civic engagement.

"We are grateful to receive this recognition that points to the full-orbed education being provided at Trinity," President David S. Dockery said. "It also reflects the efforts on the part of students, staff, and faculty to give back to the community and to live out the distinctive aspects of the Trinity mission."

This year, 766 colleges and universities were named to the honor roll, but Trinity is in a more select group of institutions that have been awarded the designation for consecutive years.

The CNCS launched the honor roll in 2006, in collaboration with the U.S. Department of Education, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development, the American Council on Education, Campus Compact and the Interfaith Youth Core.
