Learn about beekeeping at gardening program

The Four Seasons Gardening program from University of Illinois Extension continues with a session titled, "Beekeeping for the Home Gardener."

The program will be offered at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 19, via computer at the McHenry County Extension office in Woodstock.

Beekeeping is a growing and rewarding hobby that can be enjoyed by most backyard gardeners. Join horticulture educator Jennifer Fishburn as she discusses beekeeping for the backyard gardener. She will discuss the basics of starting a backyard colony, understanding honeybees and hive management.

This is the second session of the winter series. The next program titled "The Edible Indoor Garden" is set for 6:30 p.m. March 5.

Cost per session is $5. Advance registration required at web.extension.illinois.edu/lm.
