Have a blooming good time at orchid show

The annual Chicago Suburban Orchid Show will be held from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21, and 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 22, at the DuPage County Fairgrounds, Building 5, 2015 Manchester Road in Wheaton.

There is free admission and parking.

There will be thousands of orchid exhibits created by orchid societies and greenhouses from around the Midwest. Several local greenhouses will have plants, books and supplies for sale. Help support the Batavia Orchid Society to promote orchid growing as a hobby; foster good fellowship among its members; encourage the improvement of orchids by cultivation, hybridization, importation, and exhibition; and disseminate useful information concerning orchid care.

The Batavia Orchid Society meets at 6:30 p.m. on the second Tuesday of each month at the Batavia Public Library, 10 S. Batavia Ave. Guests are welcome. Meetings consist of a short business meeting, a review of the Plant of the Month and a special topic or lecture.
