Police arrest tenant following fire at Bloomington apartment

BLOOMINGTON, Ill. (AP) - A 56-year-old Bloomington woman has been arrested following an apartment fire that injured two people on the city's west side.

Firefighters responded to a report of a blaze at the three-story building early Sunday. The Bloomington Pantagraph (http://bit.ly/1L3uyYm ) reports the fire was confined to a living room in one of the units and was extinguished in about 10 minutes.

According to authorities, at least six of the people who live in the building were home during the fire and were able to escape. They say two people were taken to a hospital with injuries not considered life-threatening.

Officials say a woman who lives in the building was arrested several hours later on aggravated and residential arson charges.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing.
