Home of the Sparrow will host the annual women's luncheon, "There's No Place Like Home," Friday, March 6, at D'Andrea Banquets & Conference Center in Crystal Lake.

Join the group for lunch at 11:30 a.m., followed by humorous stories from Kelly Swanson, a comedian and motivational storyteller, who returns for a second year.

Swanson's southern charm will take you to Prides Hollow, her tiny little town about a mile and a hair past nowhere, where the simple life is revered, ordinary heroes are appreciated, and the stories aren't fancy - they're just about people like us.

Home of the Sparrow is a nonprofit 501 (c)(3) organization which provides transitional shelter, affordable housing and supportive services to hundreds of homeless women and children within McHenry County and northern Illinois each year.

Home of the Sparrow expects to provide services to more than 325 women and children in 2015.
