DuPage health officials warn of potential measles exposure

In light of recent reported measles cases in Illinois, DuPage County health officials are warning residents about potential exposures to the illness in DuPage. People involved in the reported Cook County cases visited places throughout northern Illinois, the DuPage health department said in a news release. Two more infants from a Palatine day care center have measles, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Illinois to 10, health officials said Tuesday afternoon. Full story.

Two more infants from a Palatine day care center have measles, bringing the total number of confirmed cases in Illinois to 10, health officials said yesterday afternoon. Chicago and Cook County health officials said nine of the 10 cases are associated with a KinderCare Learning Center in Palatine. All of the cases there are among unvaccinated infants and adults. Officials: ECC student confirmed to have measles

One already confirmed measles case in suburban Cook County was determined to be an Elgin Community College student, officials said yesterday. The Kane County Health Department notified the college on Monday that a case of measles had been confirmed in one of the school's students, an ECC spokesman said. Full story.

3 men charged with sex assault in Elgin

Elgin police arrested three men accused of sexually assaulting a woman and recording the assault on a cellphone, authorities said. Eric Cruz, 23, of the 0-100 block of Dixon Avenue in Elgin, Daniel Hernandez-Gutierrez, 20, of the 0-100 block of Dean Drive in South Elgin, and Jose L. Vasquez Jr., 18, of Longwood Circle in Elgin, were being held in the Kane County jail on charges of unlawful restraint and multiple counts of criminal sexual assault, records show. Full story.
