Attempted armed robbery at Arlington Hts. cleaners

A man attempted to hold up an Arlington Heights dry cleaners but left without any money, police said.

According to a police report released Wednesday, a man went into Kustom Kleen, 1008 N. Wilke Road, around 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday, pointed a black handgun at the employee and demanded money from the register.

However, the man left without any money when the employee said he or she was calling the police.

The offender was described as a white male, approximately 30 years old, 6'1”, 180 pounds, with a slim build. He was last seen heading southbound from the scene wearing a dark brown winter coat, a black knit hat and a dark colored winter scarf, according to the report.
