The Limitations to play at St. Charles library

The St. Charles Public Library's Sunday Concert Series will host The Limitations at 2 p.m. Sunday, Feb. 15, in the library's Carnegie Community Room, 1 S. Sixth Ave.

This trio of experienced and knowledgeable musicians takes you on a journey back to the great American music prior to the British invasion with a focus on Sun Records, which spawned Johnny Cash, Elvis, Carl Perkins and many others.

Members of the band include Tom Swenson, Tony Volini and Steve Justman. Their approach is how the earliest of this music was played, sparsely with no drums, at speeds and volumes that allows the purity of the musicianship to come through. This all adds up to fun, popular American music loved by all.

This event is part of the library's Sunday Concert Series, featuring a wide variety of live musical performances. The public is welcome and the concert is free to attend. For information, visit www.stcharleslibrary.org or call (630) 584-0076.
