Bradley University begins search to replace president

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) - Bradley University says it hopes to replace retiring President Joanne Glasser by the beginning of the Peoria school's fall semester.

The school put out a news release Monday saying that the search will begin immediately. Officials will name a 12-member search committee and hire a firm that specializes in higher education executive searches to help.

So far nine members of the search committee have been named. They include Bradley's student body president, a federal judge and a Caterpillar Inc. executive. The University Senate will elect three faculty members to join the committee as well.

Glasser announced her retirement last month. She will leave at the end of May.
