NIU reveals logo to mark 50th anniversary of Huskie Stadium
DEKALB, Ill. (AP) - Northern Illinois University has a new logo to mark the 50th anniversary of Huskie Stadium.
The school says that the 2015 football season will be the stadium's 50th year. The stadium has been the site of 163 NIU football wins and four MAC championship teams. NIU plans a season-long celebration.
The logo features the stadium's west grandstand as it looked when the stadium opened in 1965. The logo also has the current NIU Huskies logo and the number 50.
The school says it will use the logo prominently in NIU athletics 2015 football marketing materials.
The stadium also hosts practices for the football team and the school's wrestling and women's gymnastics programs. It also provides lockers and equipment space for other teams.
