Fitness Fun Fair in Aurora gets kids moving

The annual Fitness Fun Fair for Kids Saturday at Vaughan Athletic Center in Aurora was designed to get kids moving in hopes of instilling healthy habits.

The event was sponsored by the Fox Valley Park District and featured activities that included an obstacle course, KitFit demo, basketball toss and age-divided bounce houses.

"By making exercise enjoyable, kids are much more likely to develop healthy habits they will carry into adulthood," said recreation supervisor Laureen Baumgartner.

More than 30 vendors and local businesses ranging from restaurants to rock climbing were on hand to promote active pursuits and healthy lifestyles.
