Field set for state cheerleading finals

Thirteen high school cheerleading squads from the Daily Herald coverage area have made it to the Saturday's IHSA state finals at U.S. Cellular Coliseum in Bloomington.

A total of 100 teams competed in Friday's preliminaries, and the top 10 in each of four divisions advanced.

Here are the local qualifiers:

Small division - St. Edward.

Medium division - Grayslake Central and Hampshire.

Large division - Crystal Lake Central, Lake Zurich, Neuqua Valley, Rolling Meadows and Wheaton North.

Coed division - Barrington, Buffalo Grove, Conant, Elk Grove and Lake Park.
