Donor Motivation - It's All About Connecting Established Aurora Businessman Brings New Program to Local Charities
Rey Cruz, of Cruz Investments & Wealth Management in Aurora, IL, invited representatives from local charities to share an innovative method for charities to motivate donors through the Donor Motivation Program®.
Cruz, a passionate advocate for the program, knows how financial donations can make or break a charity, especially in these uncertain financial times. During this learning luncheon, he shared why helping charities is so important to him.
"I have served on numerous boards, given money and time to various charities," says Cruz. "The one thing I have learned is that there are always more needs than there is time. That's why when I learned of the Donor Motivation Program®, I had to find out more. I needed to know how it could help my community."
The presentation highlighted facets of the program and how it works. Guests learned how to better connect with their current donors through ideas such as building a high trust environment by having integrity and personally getting to know their donors to learn their motives and understand what's important to them. Concepts like these help charities with their current demands as well as helping to meet their future goals, mostly through planned giving. By building their endowment funds, charities can ensure a much more stable future.
"Charity officers often only have the time to see approximately 75-100 people per year," states Cruz. "The Donor Motivation method allows them to reach up to an additional 100 people per year and aid in creating those endowments."
