Schoof scores 15; American U rolls past Loyola (Md) 64-49

WASHINGTON (AP) - John Schoof scored 15 points and American University rolled to a 64-49 victory over Loyola of Maryland on Wednesday night.

American (13-10, 6-5 Patriot League) has won two straight since snapping a three-game losing streak, and is tied with Lafayette and Lehigh for third place in the league.

Schoof shot 4 of 5 from the field and 7 of 8 from the line, and the senior guard now has 1,007 career points.

Jesse Reed scored 17 points and Charlie Jones chipped in 12 for American. Kevin Panzer finished with eight points, nine rebounds, six assists and two blocks.

Reed did not miss a shot in the first half, scoring 11 points in the first eight minutes to give American a 16-4 lead, and the Eagles led by double digits for all but eight seconds the rest of the way.

Eric Laster scored 17 points to lead Loyola (9-13, 5-6).
