Benefit to help family with child's medical bills

A benefit for Meagan Seals will be held at 5 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 21 at the Elburn American Legion, 112 N Main St.

Meagan was born with rare conditions called encephalocele, microcephaly, anencephaly and lissencephaly in November 2009 and was not expected to take her first breath. Despite all the medical complications, she has beaten the odds. She celebrated her fifth birthday this past November.

Unfortunately, Meagan has had some setbacks which has required two emergency brain surgeries and is still on the road to recovery. Join in helping this family with medical expenses.

Tickets are $25 each which includes a meal and drink. Only 400 tickets sold. Twenty winners will be drawn with total payouts of $2,500. Drawings begin at 5:30 p.m. You do not need to be present to win. Tickets are available at Paisano's Pizza & Grill Co., 106 N. Main St. in Elburn.

Businesses, families and individuals can be a sponsor of a table. Sponsorship includes sign on the table and acknowledgment. Any information you wish to provide will be given to all who attend the event, there are only 15 available. Donate appetizers or desserts, although Paisano's Pizza is providing the food for the event, donations of desserts and appetizers are needed. Or donate decorations such as balloons, table clothes, flowers, etc. Volunteer to set up raffle items, serve food, sell raffle tickets the day of the event. Donate items or services, lesser valued items can be used in conjunction with other items collected to create a basket or raffle off independently, or donate an basket.

All donations of goods and services be dropped off at Paisano's Pizza, 106 N. Main St., or the Elburn Herald, 525 N. Main St., No. 2, in the Elburn Community Center or other arrangements can be made to pick up items by emailing annerich@sbcglobal.net or llogan@elburnherald.com. Donated items must be dropped off by Saturday, Feb. 7.
