Snowplow blade slices vehicle, injuring 4

Four people were taken to the hospital after a crash yesterday afternoon in Waukegan that caused a snowplow blade to slice into a vehicle. Details of the crash weren't available yesterday, but the four people were taken to Advocate Condell Medical Center in Libertyville — three in serious condition and one with minor injuries. Park district's maintenance garage burns

A Golf Maine Park District maintenance garage was heavily damaged by a fire last night that happened just after 6 p.m. North Maine firefighters responded to an active alarm at the building, on the 9000 block of Emerson Street, and found smoke coming from the building. Full story.

Three in DuPage die shoveling snow

Three men died while shoveling snow Sunday, the coroner's office said yesterday. The deceased included a 53-year-old Downers Grove man, a 60-year-old Naperville man and a 64-year old Winfield man. Full story.

Residents seek an injunction over homeless housing plan near Lake Zurich

Opponents went to court yesterday to try to force a public vetting of a plan to place chronically homeless people with mental illness in a building just outside Lake Zurich. They're contesting the administrative permitting process for the Midlothian Manor building, which is owned by the Lake County Housing Authority. Full story.

North Aurora man sent to prison for child porn

A 28-year-old man was sentenced to four years in prison for possessing child pornography. Harry I. Joslin, of the 100 block of Lilac Lane, North Aurora, pleaded guilty Friday to reduced charges and must register as a sex offender after his release. Full story.

Imrem: Super Bowl should have been in Chicago

The only thing that could have been more entertaining about Sunday's Super Bowl would be if happened in Chicago during the blizzard, Mike Imrem says. Imrem went on to defend Pete Carroll's nail-in-the-coffin play call, saying if he gets fired, Chicago should hire him on the spot. Full story.
