Schaumburg Seeks Artist Entries for Prairie Plein Air Competition and Prairie Arts Festival

The Village of Schaumburg is currently seeking artist entries for the 2015 Prairie Plein Air Competition and Show and the 28th Annual Prairie Arts Festival.

The Prairie Center Arts Foundation invites plein air artists to participate in the 2015 Plein Air Competition and Show by creating an original plein air painting or drawing of any location within the Village of Schaumburg. Plein air is a French expression that refers to art that is created outdoors with the artist's subject in full view.

Submitted works will be exhibited at the Prairie Center for the Arts in conjunction with Schaumburg's Prairie Arts Festival and throughout the month of June. This event is open to all plein air artists. Entries are due by Friday, April 10. The village is also seeking artist entries to be displayed at the 28th Annual Prairie Arts Festival that will be held May 23 and 24 in Schaumburg.

Artist applications are due online or postmarked by Friday, March 6. A variety of art is featured at the event including digital, drawing, fiber, furniture, glass, graphics, jewelry, leather, mixed media 2D, mixed media 3D, painting (including watercolor, acrylic, oil, pastel), paper, photography, pottery, printmaking, sculpture, and woodworking all crafted by the artist.
