Valentine chocolates featured at Morkes Algonquin

The chocolate dipping won't stop between now and Valentine's Day.

At Morkes Chocolates in Algonquin, workers are dipping huge, juicy, plump strawberries into milk chocolate, white chocolate and dark chocolate pretty much all day, every day that the business along the Randall Road corridor is open.

Morkes, at 2755 W. Algonquin Road, has just about anything chocolate lovers could want for Valentine's Day.

They have assorted boxed chocolates. You can fill the boxes will all of the favorites your honey loves - whether they are chocolate-filled or stuffed with another flavor.

The business along the Randall Road corridor also has molded chocolates in various Valentine-themed shapes and designs, including hearts. You can even get the molded hearts on a sucker stick for the children in your life this Valentine's Day.

For your sweethearts, Morkes has chocolate long-stemmed roses.

And for anyone you love, they have heart baskets filled with various chocolate goodies.

While all of those sweets are hugely popular around Valentine's Day, Morkes owner Claudia Kendzior said she's seen their chocolate-covered strawberries surpass even the boxed chocolates in recent years. At this time of year, she said, you can find strawberries getting dipped pretty much any time you walk into the store.

"It's amazing," she said. "People just love them. They're very popular. I think they're just a little healthier, and so good, and people love them."

Kendzior suggests you call ahead to order your strawberries to make it easier for yourself. However, she said, if you don't, you'll still be able to get some of the juicy goodness.

"We never run out," she said.

Kendzior added that this year customers can order online at www.morkesalgonquin.com/.
