Palmdale man arrested in fatal sword attack

PALMDALE, Calif. (AP) - Police say a Palmdale man fatally stabbed his roommate with a sword.

The Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department said in a news release Sunday that deputies arrested 36-year-old Ricardo Medina in the killing of Joshua Sutter at their apartment Saturday afternoon.

Authorities say Medina marched into his bedroom in the midst of the argument and then grabbed a sword he kept near the door and stabbed Sutter in the abdomen after Sutter forced his way into the room.

The Sheriff's Department says Medina then called 911 and waited for help.

He was booked after detectives interviewed him Sunday. Bail was set at $1 million.
