Veterans to benefit from Ice Fishing Derby on Bangs Lake

Two veterans organizations were the big winners of Saturday's LVVA 6th Annual Ice Fishing Derby on Bangs Lake in Wauconda. The Wounded Heroes Foundation and Veterans R&R are benefiting from money raised from the derby, sponsored by the Lake View Villa Association.

Anglers dropped lines at 7 a.m., hoping to claim a prize for the biggest northern pike, bass, crappie, perch and bluegill. Raffles, door prizes, food, hot chocolate and coffee topped off the event.
