Cut pensions to fix pensions

If our Illinois elected officials really want to show a commitment in helping to lower the unfunded pension crisis, they can pass a law that all past and present elected officials forward half their pensions to reduce the deficit until the unfunded problem is resolved. They could also work on passing a law that all persons collecting a pension over $50,000 only receive 60%.

If the rest of us have to pay to resolve the mess we did not create,

Those who receive monies need to be part of the solution too.
