Schaumburg Mayor Al Larson has been appointed to the National League of Cities 2015 Transportation and Infrastructure Services Policy and Advocacy Committee.

The committee has the lead responsibility for developing the league's federal policy positions on issues involving transportation, including planning, funding, safety and security of public transit, streets and highways, aviation, railroads and ports.

"I am honored and proud to represent our area to discuss potential advancements in transportation," Larson said. "Transportation has always played a vital role in the development and vitality of Schaumburg so I look forward to working with this committee to determine how we can continue to make investments in our infrastructure that will benefit the public."
