Gateway signs to adorn Elk Grove Village business park
Elk Grove Village is due to receive eight gateway signs at the entrance to its business park beginning this fall.
The signs will be installed on Higgins Road east of Arlington Heights Road; at Higgins and Oakton Street; Busse Road south of Higgins; Oakton east of Shadywood Lane; Tonne Road and Landmeier Road; Tonne and Touhy Avenue; Tonne north of Devon Avenue; and York Road north of Pan Am Boulevard.
The signs are estimated to cost $600,000 total. Some signs may not go up until spring 2016, officials said.
Village officials previously announced plans for the installation of seven residential gateway signs.
Median landscaping enhancements are also planned along Rohlwing Road from Nerge Road to the village limits, and on Biesterfield Road from Rohlwing to Martha Street.
The village board approved a $77,812 contract this week with Civiltech Engineering to do the design work.
