Family addiction, recovery workshop:

Kiva Recovery will host a free Family Addition/Family Recovery workshop Tuesday, Feb. 3, 7 to 8 p.m., at its office at 935 Lakeview Parkway, Suite 101 in Vernon Hills. It will: assist participants in gaining an enhanced understanding of addiction and the tools necessary to begin a recovery process; allow family members and significant others affected by addiction to form the foundation to support their healing; empower those exposed to addiction (family, friends, professionals) to increase their awareness of the beliefs that shape unhealthy behaviors to develop healthier ways to cope with addiction and relationships; and reinforce each participant's understanding of their responsibility that they can heal from their exposure to addiction.
