Illinois man sentenced to 19 years in sex-attack case

EDWARDSVILLE, Ill. (AP) - A southwestern Illinois man has been sentenced to 19 years in prison after admitting he sexually assaulted a 4-year-old girl.

The (Alton) Telegraph (http://bit.ly/1K3TSLc ) reports that 42-year-old John Hensley of Granite City was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to a charge of predatory criminal sexual assault of a child.

Hensley had been charged with sexual misconduct with the 4-year-old girl and her 3-year-old sister in October 2013.

A prosecutor told the judge that DNA evidence linked Hensley to at least one of the victims.

Hensley had been jailed in Madison County on $250,000 bond and will get credit for that time served.
