Rockford man gets life in prison for 2011 shooting death

ROCKFORD, Ill. (AP) - A judge has sentenced a Rockford man to life in prison for shooting another Rockford man to death in 2011.

The Winnebago County state's attorney's office says 28-year-old Donald P. Falls was sentenced Tuesday. He received natural life in prison for a murder conviction and 15 years for aggravated discharge of a firearm.

Jurors in December found Falls guilty of opening fire on 30-year-old Harold Anding on Sept. 28, 2011.

Anding was in the passenger seat of a car stopped at an intersection in Rockford. He suffered multiple gunshot wounds and died after being dropped off at a hospital emergency room.
