Dining events: New cafe offers sweet buns

Get a sweet bun, hun

Enjoy a cup of coffee or tea while shopping at Westfield Fox Valley and snack on a variety of roti buns at Cafe Rottibun. A roti bun is an Asian yeast-dough baked treat with a crunchy outside and soft, buttery inside. Rottibuns cost $2.99 each; add a topping like caramel, mocha, Nutella, white chocolate or honey, for 50 cents.

Chicago eateries offer Restaurant Week deals

It's Chicago Restaurant Week, an annual two-week event celebrated with specials at more than 250 restaurants throughout the Windy City. Through Feb. 12, this foodie celebration includes special prix fixe menus with lunch specials for $22 and dinner specials for either $33 or $44 (excluding beverages, tax and gratuity). Restaurant Week eats in the Western burbs

Barbakoa in Downers Grove celebrates Chicago's Restaurant Week with $33 prix fixe modern Latin cuisine specials through Feb. 12. In Geneva, more than 20 of the town's restaurants are offering special menus at lunch ($19) and dinner ($39) through Sunday, Feb. 1.
