Adler Center, Lake County Art League join forces for February exhibit

The David Adler Music & Arts Center is partnering with the Lake County Art League for a special curated exhibition. Work by five Lake County artists will be on display at the David Adler Center Feb. 5-20.

A free opening reception will be from 7-9 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 5, at the David Adler Center.

"The Adler Center is right here in Lake County, so it's nice to showcase our own artists," said Tanya Facchini, art program coordinator for the David Adler Center.

Artists were chosen through a January competition hosted by the Lake County Art League. Founded in 1934, the Lake County Art League hosts workshops for artists and display local artists' works through its own "On the Wall" exhibitions.

Visitors will be able to appreciate the breadth of talent in Lake County as they explore Lee Radtke's Chicago street scenes, Mary Haas's dreamy landscapes, and the detailed paintings of Jerry Hosten, whose work is inspired by the Flemish painters of his native home in Belgium. The exhibit also includes works by Chuck McCann and Priscilla Powers.

Visit the Lake County Art League Exhibition from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. Mondays through Thursdays and 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays, Feb. 5-20.

Located in the historic home of architect David Adler, the David Adler Music and Arts Center is dedicated to making music and the arts an integral part of everyday life.
