Duke promotes GA Guerrieri to assistant football coach
DURHAM, N.C. (AP) - Duke has promoted graduate assistant Matt Guerrieri to assistant coach.
Coach David Cutcliffe announced the promotion Tuesday.
Guerrieri is a former safety at Davidson who spent the past three seasons as a GA, coaching the safeties in 2013 and '14.
He replaces Rick Petri, who resigned two weeks ago and joined Louisiana Tech's staff.
Cutcliffe says Guerrieri is "an exceptional young coach with an extremely bright future ahead of him."
