Schaumburg Park District seeks lifeguards

The Schaumburg Park District is seeking applicants for several lifeguard positions available this summer at three outdoor pools.

Lifeguards must be at least 16 years old and have a valid Red Cross lifeguard certification, or complete a training program offered by the park district from March 23-27. Certification training also will be offered in mid-May, said Heather Hagstrom, the district's aquatics supervisor.

Hagstrom said summer lifeguards are needed at the outdoor pools at the Bock Recreation Center, Atcher Island and Meineke Recreation Center. There is potential for the positions to extend beyond the summer at the indoor pools at The Water Works, she said.

Employment applications are available at the Community Recreation Center, 505 N. Springinsguth Road. Applicants should return completed applications to Stacy Johnson, assistant aquatics supervisor, at the center. Interviews will be scheduled for March.
