Catholic Schools Week celebration takes flight

Members of the Chicago Boyz Acrobatic Team spent a whole lot of time in the air Tuesday during a performance celebrating Catholic Schools Week in Glen Ellyn.

The professional gymnastics troupe entertained students with a variety of acrobatic stunts - a great many of which involved flying over other gymnasts, students or even faculty members - during an appearance at St. James the Apostle Catholic School.

The celebration continues with another all-school assembly on Wednesday that will feature Frisbee-catching border collies from a group called Skydogs. Later this week, there will be a spelling bee for fifth-, sixth-, seventh- and eighth-graders on Thursday, and a Family Fun night from 6 to 8:30 p.m. Friday.

Students also are participating in an all-school service project by donating items - ranging from pet food to paper towels - to the West Suburban Humane Society
