Woodland Middle School bee champion:
Woodland Middle School officials have announced the winner of the local National Geographic Bee. Eighth-grader Eli Ameyibor recently won the middle school competition, with fellow eighth-grader Shyama Bhatt coming in second place. The students at the Gurnee school that's part of Woodland Elementary District 50 participated in the first round in the 27th National Geographic Bee. Eli will take a written test in the competition's next leg.
