COLUMBUS, Ohio (AP) - Tampa Bay Lightning forward Tyler Johnson has been ruled out from playing in the NHL All-Star skills competition on Saturday night because of a lower body injury.

The Lightning also announced that it's unclear whether the second-year player will be able to compete in the All-Star game on Sunday. The team did not reveal the severity of the injury or how Johnson was hurt.

Johnson is eighth in the NHL and leads Tampa Bay with 48 points (17 goals and 31 assists) in 46 games this season.

He is a member of Team Toews, and was selected to compete in the challenge relay.
