Making magic for a good cause in St. Charles

Children stood with eyes wide and mouths agape Sunday in the lobby of the Arcada Theatre in St. Charles, as at least four professional illusionists entertained them before they took their seats to see more magic onstage.

Illusionists Steve Chezaday, Dennis Debondt, Jania Taylor, Karen Burris, Anthony Stockton and Trent Rivas were all on the bill for the revue Believe in Magic, which benefits the National Association for Down Syndrome.

It was the fourth year for the annual fundraiser, and second time it's been hosted at the Arcada. Strolling performers and face painters entertained in the lobby before the show.

He was one of 10 professional magicians to perform in the packed theater as part of the benefit for the National Association of Down Syndrome. John Starks/jstarks@dailyherald.com
